This policy covers Smart Data Choices, Inc. ("we", "us"), this website, and our apps: ScanDoc and Printer Sharing for Mac ("the apps").

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our hosting provider's edge network logs standard request metadata (IP address, requested page, browser type, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention; these logs are not sold or shared and are retained only as long as our hosting provider's standard operational period.

The apps

Both apps are built to need as little of your data as possible:

• ScanDoc performs scanning, image filtering and text recognition entirely on your device. We do not operate a server that your documents pass through. If you connect a destination — Paperless-ngx, WebDAV, S3-compatible storage, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive — your device uploads directly to that destination; we never see the file or its contents. Credentials for destinations you configure are stored in your device's keychain, never on our servers, because we don't operate any.
• Printer Sharing for Mac runs entirely on your Mac and communicates only with printers and devices on your local network. It has no cloud component and sends us nothing while running.
• Neither app includes an analytics SDK, an advertising SDK, or a crash-reporting SDK that sends data off your device.

Purchases and licences

App Store purchases are processed by Apple; we receive only what Apple's standard reporting provides (which does not include your payment details) and never see your card information.

Direct purchases of Printer Sharing for Mac are processed by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record and handles payment details directly — we do not receive or store your card number. We keep a record of the licence key issued, the email address used for the purchase, and the purchase date, solely so we can help you recover a lost licence. This record is not used for marketing and is not shared with anyone except as required to provide support or comply with the law.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect your documents, your scans, your printer's contents, your location, your contacts, or any browsing history. We do not use your data to train any model.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. Because we collect so little to begin with, most requests are answered the same day.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters — most notably, if we ever add a data-collecting SDK to either app — we will update this page and, where required, our published App Privacy disclosures.
