FolioIntent help
Shortcuts
Treat a Workflow result as a durable object, then ask for only the files or data the next action needs.
Build a file-processing shortcut
- Add Process Document, pass one or more supported files, choose a Workflow, and begin in Preview while testing.
- Use Get Workflow Result when you need a refreshed view of a saved result.
- Add Get Result Files, Get Result Text, Get Result Data, or Get Result Fields.
- Use Get Result Action Statuses before treating a destination write as complete.
- Use Retry Workflow Action only for an eligible unresolved action. Ambiguous outcomes require reconciliation before resubmission.
Camera shortcuts
Scan and Process can open FolioIntent for camera capture. Only one camera request can be active. Finish or cancel in FolioIntent to return control to Shortcuts. If iOS interrupts the scene, the request resolves and accepted pages remain available for recovery in the app.
Compatibility
The older Scan Document action remains available so existing shortcuts can keep their action identity and primary-file behavior. New shortcuts should prefer the structured Workflow result and getter actions.
Result lifecycle and limits
- Preview returns a result and proposed actions without sending, notifying, or publishing.
- Result files have an independent seven-day lease by default. Move important outputs to durable storage rather than treating a temporary result as permanent.
- Force-quitting FolioIntent stops in-progress work and iOS does not grant an automatic relaunch. Reopen the app and inspect Runs before choosing a recovery control.
- An accepted upload may still be processing remotely. Check each action status; accepted is not the same as provider-confirmed.
